Mid-West Winter
The weather in Chicago this winter reminds me of that "Hot n' Cold" Katy Perry song. That was a really dramatic comparison, but one day it's 60 degrees outside and the next I look out my office window and it looks like this:
I love you Chicago, but I can't take much more of the judgmental looks I get from using my umbrella in the snow.
New Additions
Anybody who doesn't live close to their family knows it can be a blessing as well as a hardship. I went to college at Michigan State University which was only 45 minutes south of the small town I grew up in so my mother frequently "popped in" without notice. Needless to say, my family can be a bit overbearing, so when making a pros and cons list of moving out-of-state after graduating, being five hours away somehow made its way onto the pro side of the list. Not seeing my nephew frequently and not being able to meet these two right away makes me wonder why I left Michigan. I can't wait to meet them!
